A crown braid is a usual French braid that will begin from above one ear and go through one and half inches below the crown of your head. To have a traditional crown braid you must have a significant amount of length to the hair which can help to loop the braid around the crown of your head as may times as possible. There is a possibility to create half-crown braid on even medium length hair using a single loop around the crown of your head that can be as large or small. To create this hairstyle, first you must wash your hair completely and dry the hair with a towel.

Next you must brush the hair completely smooth and create a side part. Then collect a small section of the hair on the side of the part using less hair. Divide the small section into 3 different parts and create a French braid. Do this in the slightly downward angle toward the back of the head. Add more hair to the French braid till you reach above the other ear. Collect entire hair into the French braid and tumble down your back. Next smooth the top of the hair to avoid any bumps from forming. After braiding the long length of the hair at the other ear, secure it using small elastic. Wrap the braid around your head and secure it with pins beneath the braid at your ear from where you started.
