Cherokee braid is a large cornrow hairstyle which is braided just like a standard cornrow style. The main different in this style is the size of your braids. This hairstyle is usually larger and they can be used interchangeably like two different styles. It is a sophisticated hairstyle that is worn by both men and women on various occasions.
To create a Cherokee braid, part your hair in the sections where you want your braids to be. Keep the sections of the hair in place using long hair clips. The braid will begin at the front hairline and then continue straight down to back of your head. Take the clip from the first section of your hair and divide a small portion of the hair at the forehead into three sections to start the braid. Begin the braid by separate the strand on the right under the middle strand and over the left strand. Take the left strand under middle strand and then over the right strand. Collect a section of hair from underneath your braid which was started and continue the braiding process in the manner until you reach the place that you wanted to end it close to the nape of your neck. Use a small elastic hair band to secure the end of the braid. Now take out the hair clip from each strand and create each braid in the same way until all of your hair is braided.
