The gray hair can get yellow tones over time which is due to different reasons. Bleaching can leave unwanted yellow as well as brassy tones on your hair and toners can be used to remove less-than-desirable hues in the hair which are also inexpensive compared to other styling products. The tones are available in different shades that can be selected to achieve the color you want. Just follow these steps to remove the yellowing hair without going to a hair specialist.
First take one part of toner and mix it along with one part of developer in a bowl or a plastic applicator bottle. Using 20 volume developer can be on the hair as it works with toner to deposit only and doesn’t lift the color. Use toner with a purple or a blue base to counteract and reduce the yellow and brassy tones. Apply the toner over a wet hair using a hair dye brush and make sure to cover the areas which have yellow strands first. Leave the strands with the toner not more than 10 minutes and rinse it with warm water before applying a deep conditioner. Try to wash your hair with a shampoo that has been specially designed for silver and white hair at least once or twice a week. Use a towel to dry your hair for better results. The shampoo will have a purple base which will refresh your hair to keeps away yellow and brassy tones.
