Overhand Box Braid
A overhand box braid is a type of hairstyle that is created with four strands of hair. This hairstyle can be created perfectly by a professional hairstylist, but you can also achieve it at home by spending more time. Try to practice this hairstyle using a four strand rope and then create it on your hair.
To get this style, comb through your hair using the wide-toothed comb to get rid of any knots or tangles. Next add a little amount of shea butter in your hand and wait until it melts. Then apply the shea butter on your hair from the roots to tip which will make it smooth and easier to braid. Divide a square section of hair for braiding which usually depends on the thickness of the braid you are looking to have. The starting point must be from a square section which will be about 2 inches by 2 inches. Separate this square section into four equal-sized sections and keep each of the strands vertically upwards to create a neat square shape using the front left and front right sections at the hairline. The back left and back right sections of the hair must be kept further away. Now take the front right section of hair to cross it with the back left section, then cross back right section with the front left section of hair. Repeat this process until you reach the end of the braid and secure it by using hair elastic.
